My DeviantART History
Back in the first quarter of 2006 I was just finishing of the television series SonicX and as some might know back then my absolute favorite character was Tails the fox. So naturally as any noob fan would do I searched for fan sites. Closer to summer I came across a forum site and started to browse eventually I came across an amusing post. It was a screenshot from SonicX episode 4 "Chaos Emerald Chaos" portraying Dr. Eggman behind Chris ready to take the emerald. With this caption "Yes, take the one he has that you don't. Take the hair!" I clicked the picture hoping it would lead me to a larger version I could save to the computer.
Instead it lead me to what I initially thought was a sonic art site but further research lead my to discover the entire community of DeviantART.com. I browsed for what was probably a few weeks before calling a particular friend and report my find believing he'd appreciate it. I humbly requested to my mother to join the site, but predictably she was prejudice and stubborn after hearing the name. However in spite of her naive I joined the on June 24 2006 on a day when the friend I had called as well as his brother where visiting. While these two will contest to discovering the site before me they are still a major part of this story.
Over the next 2 years I greatly enjoyed the sonic community and made many friends including Trixie Prower, Missy the Mew, Pancakes and Waffles, Heart of Gold, and xxLotti. However after the fire in 2008 I ran into many computer problems which in turn caused my message board to dramatically expand. Despite my best efforts the number seemed to keep climbing. Every time I'd get rid of X amount of messages I'd stop to focus on something else and the number would be back to where it was or higher in a few days. Unfortunately this also started to effect my friendships.
During the very short year between my 18th birthday and 19 birthday I learned a lot about my self, the world I lived in, and the way my mind saw the world. Then some time between November of 20-10 and February 20-11 I considered the possibility of moving accounts, something which I had though about few times before. I decided that with my fifth anniversary coming up I would use this opportunity to reinvent myself as an artist. Since my joining in 06 I've met hundreds of wonderful people, admired thousands of artworks, and have attended 3 official Devmeets. Including the DeviantART 10th Anniversary Birthday Bash in LA. As many deviants have said before me, I am here for the long term.
